The Pomeranian is similar to other Spitz dogs, but is smaller than all its German relatives. It is desirable because it is all at once charming, delicate, and intelligent looking. The Pomeranian measures between eight and eleven inches at the shoulder and weighs in at as little as two pounds, with the desired weight being about four or five pounds. As in most breeds, females will weigh less than their male counterparts.
The Pomeranian’s body structure is round and solid. Their heads resemble foxes, with a small, pointed snout, a flat head, and triangular ears. Their eyes are rounded almonds, with load of personality. Their tails typically curl back over the rump, adding to the compact roundness of the dog. The Pomeranian’s legs are of average length for a small breed and are aligned straight. Their paws are tiny, making the Pomeranian very maneuverable.
While Pomeranians come in a veritable rainbow of colors, there are 13 specific coat shades that are recognized: chocolate, beaver, orange or orange sable, white, parti-color, blue, red, wolf sable, black and tan, cream, black, or brown. The shading of the nose depends largely on coat color, and can vary from black to light brown. Their fur has two layers: the undercoat, which is fluffy and soft, provides warmth, while the fur on the surface is long and and glamorous. Pomeranians have no bald patches; their fur runs the length of all four legs and across the belly.
Pomeranians, while slight in stature, often seem completely unaware of their tiny size. This makes them ideal companions for households with other pets and children. Pomeranians are also capable of being very defensive and have been known to protect their home and owners with the gusto of a Rottweiler. While they have no real chance of hurting anyone, it’s best to properly trainin your Pomeranian as they have been known to nip. They aren’t terribly aggressive, just defensive of their loved ones.
Typically living between ten and fifteen years, the Pomeranian is an intelligent, trainable breed that can happily spend its life as a loving family pet or a useful work dog. Pomeranians have been trained as aids to the disabled and used with emergency personnel. The Pomeranian is very adaptable, capable of thriving in many environments as long as proper training is provided. If your thinking of getting a Pomeranian for your home, it would most likely be the perfect addition to your household.

Banking is a significant component within the varied mix of business-related topics you’ll need to address in your beauty salon or day spa business. If you’ve decided to operate under your own name as a sole trader, you can use your regular savings account to run your business. However, you’ll require a number of banking products to help you do so in the most practical and efficient manner.
Salon banking is relatively an easy component of your business responsibilities within your salon systems and thanks to online banking these days, you don’t even need a salon software to manage the task.
So, what other kinds of accounts might you need? I advise anyone intending to go into the salon or spa business to consider setting up the following, which are examined in more detail below.
o A personal account.
o A business account.
o Personal and business credit cards.
o A taxation account.
o A merchant facility, (credit card processing).
o A superannuation account.
1. Business account
Unless you’ve chosen to trade under a name other than your own, this will be opened using your business name. You will need your Business Registration details from the Department of Fair Trade to open the account, along with other proof of identification. Request monthly bank statements so you can track your business success and manage your money on a regular basis. You should also have a chequebook, an internet banking facility, a merchant facility (more on this later) and direct debit capability.
NB: if you are not the most disciplined person DO NOT have a key card attached to this account. Pay yourself a weekly salary from it and don’t touch it for any purpose other than paying business-related expenses. That way, you’ll always know where you stand financially.
2. Personal account (savings)
This can be an account you already have, and will be used for all non-business-related bills and purchases.
3. Personal and business credit cards
You may want to take advantage of Frequent Flyer miles and other loyalty bonuses by using a credit card for all your business purchases. If you do, you may not require a traditional business bank account. Watch out, though, that the flexibility of the credit card doesn’t encourage you to spend on things that won’t help your business! If you do choose to use a credit card only, do as you would with the traditional accounts and have two: one for your personal and one for your business expenses.
4. Taxation account
Hopefully, your taxation bank account will be the most rewarding. Sadly, we all have to pay tax, and if you’ve got a tax bill you’ve made money. If you don’t have the money saved to pay the Tax Department, then the lifestyle you have is outside the financial parameters of your business. To ensure you always have the readies for your tax, open a bank account especially for that. Set it up so that 15 to 18 per cent of you total turnover is withdrawn direct from your business account and transferred into your tax account WEEKLY. If you’re registered for GST, add another 10%. This will prepare you for your taxation commitments and enable you to concentrate solely on making money, rather than worrying about not having enough at the end of the year. Most banks have special accounts for precisely this purpose.
If you’re a lousy saver or don’t trust yourself with money in the bank, set your tax account up in the following way.
o As a fixed-term account that must contain a designated amount before withdrawals can be made.
o Have a co-signatory on the account – your partner, a parent, a best friend or someone you trust implicitly.
o No key card.
o Not linked to any other account.
o Not linked to the internet.
You can set up the direct debiting facility from your online banking facility. That way, you can have a set amount credited to your tax account or pay precisely the right percentage each week by making a ritual payment at the end of the week as part of your business housekeeping.
Tip bit:
o Keep your business and personal expenses separate, using clear and defined account and record-keeping procedures. It’s a must for a business of any size, from micro to macho. It’s the simplest way to see how your business is travelling (at a glance). If you have any questions about separating your business and personal finances, consult your accountant/ CPA or business coach.
o If you can get to the money in the account for any purpose other than paying tax you’ll rip yourself off. Don’t go into business if you want to spend your life avoiding tax. You’ll fail, if not sooner then later! Be consumed with making money, not hiding it! You won’t enjoy being self-employed if you don’t have enough funds to cover your income and GST tax obligations as they arise. Save for your tax!
o Bank as and when you collect the money, especially cheques. Make going to the bank a daily discipline.
o Whatever bank and accounts you decide to use, consult your accountant/ CPA to ensure this aspect of your business is set up correctly right from day 1.
o Have two separate filing boxes and get into the habit of sorting all your receipts in the appropriate files during and at the end of each week. Don’t get to the end of the financial year and start then – if you haven’t made good notes on each receipt you may find it too hard to remember where it should go.

Up until a couple of years ago I was rather new to lotion bars. Instead, if I was going to apply moisturizer to my skin it always came in either a tube or jar. But then, after shaking hands with a friend and commenting on how incredibly soft and smooth her skin felt she let me in on her secret: lotion bars!
A lotion bar is ‘concentrated nourishment’ for your skin – typically concentrated oils and butters with little or no added water. So a 1.5 to 2 oz. bar is typically equivalent of at least 8 oz. of regular lotion. Once on it feels dramatically different then lotion because of the concentrated ingredients. Not only will it feel as if your skin has had a deep, nourishing spa treatment – its effects will lasts for hours and hours.
Using a lotion bar is a bit different. You need to put it between your palms so that the heat of your body softens it. Then you can rub it directly on your body. It will take about 2 minutes until you feel its affect because the lotion needs to soak into your skin. Don’t worry if the bar breaks – just use the smaller pieces until you use up every last little bit of the bar.
When giving them as beauty favors look for lotions that list natural ingredients such as shea butter, jojoba oil and vitamin E as their main ingredients. Also look for lotion bars that allow you to personalize the labels to your specific celebration.
Once you and your guests try a lotion bar you won’t want to stop using this luxurious skin treatment.

Piercing has been a trend since the ancient days when they were done in tribal cultures and from the time of mummies all the way to India and then since World War II, has made its way to the Western world, continuing to be one of the major trends of today.
Whether you want to pierce for beauty, for self expression, for conformity, or tradition, or even rebellion, piercing is an age old practice that continues to enchant people today. The most popular and common form of piercing is ear piercing. Women and men alike have been doing it since ancient times and continue to do it today. Many babies have their ears pierced early because it is a sign of feminine grace and elegance, just as it was during the Elizabethan era of England where women wore an earring in one ear as a sign of their ladylike elegance. Today, women still pierce their ears to wear earrings and to be feminine and fashionable while they stick with tradition. Many men pierce their ears, too, whether to make a fashionable statement or to express their wild side. Often men and women use plugs in their ears and stretch out the holes to make some kind of statement.
Another popular form of piercing is nose piercing. Done in many tribal cultures and in India and in the Middle East, nose piercing was a popular trend among many civilizations of people. Even tribal male leaders pierced their noses to display their wealth and power. Nowadays, it still remains popular in the Eastern world and remains a traditional sign of ladylike grace. Piercing of the lip and tongue are also ancient practices that have been around since olden times. Back then it was often done to stretch out the lips, whereas other tribes did them as cultural symbols and respectful gestures to the gods.
Many people prefer nipple, navel, or genital piercing, too, though there is no official record for its origins, it is still practiced. Piercing of all kinds grew popular in the West after WWII, and then gained mass appeal when it appeared in music videos and the media. People began to get and seek piercing afterwards.
If you are interested in any kind of piercing, then be sure to choose a place that is licensed and safe. Having needles stuck into your body is no joke, and can result in serious problems for you if the place is dirty and has unsanitary needles. You could contract diseases. Also, after you get a piercing, follow the instructions very specifically to avoid infection. That means do not stick in fake silver or gold, but use the real thing to keep the piercing area unaffected by dirt or debris or rust which would give you tetanus.
Piercing is a timeless tradition that people have been doing since ancient times and many people do it for a variety of reasons. You might want to do it so that you can wear earrings if you are a woman or a man. Piercing has become a popular form of individual expression as it allows for a person to choose the part of their body to mark with a symbol of sorts. Some people do it to reflect cultural practices done since the ancient times of their culture and even sometimes for religious purposes.

Are you looking for something new and awesome in men’s rings? Are you ready to have people you meet asking you how they can have a ring like yours? If you answer “yes”, I have a line of men’s rings to introduce you to: TIMOKU.
Timoku is very new, yet timeless. Perhaps you have seen examples of mokume gane, or Damascus steel? The beauty of these metalworks is legendary. Well, Timoku rings are made with a technique that honors those centuries-old metalsmithing arts, but Timoku rings are made entirely out of Titanium – the modern and powerful king of metals. Imagine layers of Titanium, gray and black, folded and fused together, then cut through to expose “wood-grain metal.” When you see a Timoku ring, you will understand why it is unmatched in power and beauty.
Timoku men’s rings are made exclusively by Edward Mirell, an undisputed leader among makers of high quality men’s titanium jewelry. You will only find Timoku offered by Edward Mirell’s select distributors. A detail worthy of note is that Edward Mirell has a patented process for making Black Ti, the ceramic-like alloy of Titanium that is showcased in Timoku rings.
Black Ti is not a coating, but is actually a trademarked proprietary Titanium alloy comprised of rare earth inert elements that results in a gleaming black surface – one very difficult to scratch. The Black Ti results from a molecular change from the metal to ceramic which is induced with heat, time, and exposure to oxygen. Black Titanium therefore has the best of both worlds: It has the ductility of metal with the hardness of ceramic.
In Timoku, the Black Ti is layered with commercially pure (99+%) Titanium in its natural seductive grey color. You simply will not find men’s rings like these elsewhere.
So, if you are searching for the perfect and unique men’s ring or men’s wedding band, these rings are a must-see. Since each and every Timoku ring is unique in its design, a Timoku ring may be the ideal gift for the man that “already has everything.” And remember, Timoku rings are not only awesome to look at, but they’re also virtually indestructible. After all, they are Titanium, the metal with the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any.
I now point you to Titanium-Jewelry.com, a thoroughly excellent online jewelry store that specializes in (as you might have guessed) high quality titanium jewelry. They feature an impressive array of Edward Mirell creations, including the extraordinary Timoku men’s rings.
So, why not see for yourself? Get ready, though, because Timoku rings are almost unbelievable – even after you see them!

Multo en Parvo – a lot of dog in a small space. This Latin phrase is often used to describe the playful clown of the dog world, the irrepressible Pug. A tiny package of bundled energy, the pug’s bulldog-like stance belies his classification as a ‘toy‘ sized breed. Even with his overtly distinctive looks, it is the pug’s amazing personality that sets him apart from other breeds.
Delightfully friendly, pugs have an aesthetic quality that is uniquely their own. Their wrinkled faces, short snouts, curled tails and solid bodies have helped earn the Pug instant recognition on the street. Few breeds of dog are as distinctive as the pug; the common use of the term “pug ugly” suggests how recognizable the pug truly is. Even within the breed, however, variations on appearance exist. While some of these variations are plainly visible to the casual observer, true Pug enthusiasts will often notice the more subtle differences.
The Pug is most commonly “fawn” (sometimes referred to as apricot) in color; a shade resembling a creamy tan. Fawn pugs have black faces and a single black band running the length of their backs. Pug which are entirely black are less common than their fawn counterparts, but are hardly rare. The infrequency of silver colored pugs leads many non-enthusiasts to believe that the pug is limited in shade to fawn or black. Apart from the color of his coat, a pug may be single or double coated. Double coated pugs have both a silky outer coat and a downy undercoat. In both cases, the hair is short and the dog sheds year-round, requiring frequent brushing.
Even closer inspection of the dog will reveal either “rose” or “button” shaped ears, the latter being described as gently folded over and generally consider to be the more desirable of the two forms. Lastly, one of the most playful and recognizable features of this unique breed is his curly tail. The tail of the pug winds into a tight curl slightly to one side and over his hip. The more tightly curled the tail is, the better and the rare double curl is considered perfect. Bobbing slightly with his perky stride, the tail wags freely but only uncurls when the dog is sleeping or distressed.
Regardless of the physical specifics of the pug, it is this breed’s personality that ultimately wins over so many owners. The breed engenders tremendous breed loyalty among owners. Not ranked among the more intelligent breeds, the pug is none the less lovable. His enthusiasm and eagerness to please are remarkable. Truly a lover of human company, the pug will usually insist on being as close as possible to owners, friends, or even total strangers – even becoming somewhat pushy if resisted. Of course, this quality in combination with the infrequency of his bark limits the pug’s effectiveness as a watchdog. Bred as lap dogs, pugs can easily become anxious if left alone too frequently or for too long. They require considerable attention to satisfy their appetite for company. Their appetites are not limited to company however. Pugs love to eat. In fact, for many pugs, there is very little they love more. For this reason and perhaps because of their irresistible buggy eyes, it is common for pet pugs to be overweight.
A lot of dog in a small space, truly the pug has won a place in the heart of dog-lovers and casual observers alike. The unique physical characteristics are only outmatched by his childlike personality and affectionate manner. While upkeep of a pug can be challenging, the rewards seem to more than offset the extra effort.
