This is one of my “beary” favorite Care Bear commercials. The Care Bear cousins make an appearance in this commercial, as well.
These are just some of the things at the new Hornby Visitor Centre, as it appears in 2010. It is a museum in part of the Hornby building near Margate. A nice day out and a family ticket was just £10 in 2010 (2 adults, 4 kids). It takes about an hour to go round, perhaps 90 mins if you read everything. It has a great shop, and a cafe soon to come apparently. But today and on the video you will see: Hornby train sets. A Thomas the Tank Engine layout, plus a night-time layout. All different guages, prototypes, and samples. Further around the building is a massive layout which is really good and even features a period Transit van with an A-Team colour scheme, so that owner in this period must have had a premonition about the TV series. A nice little touch. Scalextric sets through the ages are displayed and bring back memories. You can also have a drive on a digital layout and swap lanes. Crash too! Airfix show their first kit, the Golden Hind (in 1952 I think). You can see some of the old packaging too. Some nice dioramas are made up. Plus you can also study the female moulds. Fascinating. Nice to see Corgi here too, with models through the ages, and my childhood. I still have many of these. You can see some prototypes here too, and it also goes right up to date with the Vanguards series, of which my XR3 was measured to be one of them recently.
